FIRE FIGHTING

Since founding Helicópteros Insulares our main activity has been FIRE FIGHTING. For this purpose we are operating three fully equipped helicopters and have highly qualified pilots and technicians. The technical characteristics of the helicopters can be seen in the chapter of "Our fleet". |

The helicopters used for this task are EUROCOPTER ‘Squirrels’, able to lift loads up to 1400kg. Due to their small size, their versatility and manoeuvrability, these helicopters allow filling up water at small deposits, even if they are hardly to access.
As these helicopters require a rather small space for the landing, our pilots can leave the fire men very close to the fires. Nevertheless, the helicopters carry up to seven people, ideal for mountain areas and inaccessible land.

The equipments used for Fire Fighting, either the "Bambi Bucket" or a water tank, are the most appropriate demanded by the Ministry of Environment. |
